Well, public relations (PR) is not what I thought it was – but I have learned, it can be MANY things! According to the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), “public relations is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics.” But there are so many ‘publics!’
But still, even this definition doesn’t paint a mental picture of what PR really is.
Simply put, PR at Brock Communications means that we serve as a liaison between our clients and their publics. It could be the press, internal audiences, moms, certain communities, kids, local or state government…and the list goes on! Whether it’s a new product launch, a business event, media training, media or investor relations, PR is about persuasive story telling. The goal is to get the ‘publics’ involved and engaged somehow.
You might be wondering how your business could benefit from PR and, frankly, we could give you a list. Instead, we’ll just ask you, “how can your business NOT benefit from PR?”
Businesses and not-for-profit organizations strive to create authentic, meaningful and healthy relationships with their publics or target markets. With the strategic help of PR, organizations can increase credibility, audience size, reputation, and in the end, PR can contribute to overall business or organizational success.
