How can Giving Tuesday benefit your client?

Black Friday was started in the 1960s and has grown into the biggest consumer day of the year. In response to this spending #GivingTuesday was created. #GivingTuesday is a social media campaign fueled by charitable organizations, businesses, and the community. The purpose of the campaign is to spark a nationwide initiative to give back. The Tuesday following Thanksgiving marks the official day of the initiative and a few of our non-profit clients participated.

Why should you consider joining #GivingTuesday?

When looking for an organization to support during #GivingTuesday choose a cause you’re committed to. The Frameworks’ mission has always resonated with our team. This organization provides local students with the tools to manage their emotions, develop healthy relationships and make good decisions for academic, career and personal success. Additionally, it’s important to research why they need funding and where the money will be allocated. Each organization functions differently and needs funding for different purposes. Encourage your network to choose a #GivingTuesday cause to support.

What is the benefit of #GivingTuesday?

Since #GivingTuesday started in 2012 it is estimated that online donations have increased by 470%. The hashtag #GivingTuesday allows both small and large local organizations to connect with a global audience through social media. Research shows that the holiday season is also the season of giving as 31% of all annual contributions take place in December. Your business can use this initiative not only to support a cause, but also to set up your client for their year-end donation wrap-up. “Giving Tuesday uses social media to provide charitable organizations with the opportunity to extend their efforts to a larger market,” says Lisa Brock. “This type of exposure would not have been possible a few years back.”
