  1. Don’t pre-judge anyone, millennials included.
  2. Everyone can teach you something and millennials have the latest and hottest currency – technology!
  3. Be open to learning from them.
  4. Be open to teaching them though maybe not the way WE learned.
  5. Don’t be swayed or put off by the casual appearance. They just think differently about professional attire.
  6. Be a good mentor, which might include discussing what professional attire is – in advance of hiring.
  7. If tattoos are a problem in your business, don’t rule the millennial out but ask them to cover the tattoos. That’s what I do.
  8. Make sure you share the ground rules and ask for them to accept before hiring. Be clear in your communication of what is expected.
  9. Millennials care about caring. Tell them what you care about and how you actively support it.
  10. If your culture needs an overhaul – millennials can help. Just ask what THEY think is important to a workplace environment.
