Using a variety of social media management and productivity apps is essential to our daily duties. The Brock Comm team prefers some apps over others, but what we can agree on is needing tools that sync across all Apple products and improve efficiency. Here’s a list of our top 8 go-to apps we can’t live without:
1. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – Used by Everyone
Some of the most essential tools are the three pillars of social media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. These are versatile digital instruments that allow our team to engage with fans and communicate strategic (and sometimes quirky, but still strategic) messages and track/forecast trends.
2. TweetDeck – Used by Lisa, Maggie & Paige
Lisa, Maggie & Paige depend on Tweetdeck to manage Twitter accounts, mentions & hashtags simultaneously. Users can see multiple conversations at once, which is convenient for our team because we are hands-on when it comes to the Twitter community.
3. Evernote – Used by Maggie
Maggie would be lost without Evernote, but lucky for her it syncs across all Apple products. As a way to transition from paper to digital note taking, Maggie started using Evernote in October 2011 and has since used it religiously. Not only does she handle all client info in Evernote, but she also managed to plan her wedding in one note.
4. Sprout Social – Used by Jessa & Maggie
Sprout Social is useful for scheduling and metrics. Jessa can’t live without Sprout Social because it allows her to schedule important messages in advance and pull fan data.
5. I-Cal – Used by Lisa, Farrukh, Maggie, Jessa, Shahla & Paige
Since most members of our team are Mac users, I-Cal is the easiest way to manage busy schedules. By setting reminders and synching calendars along multiple devices nothing slips through the cracks.
6. Cision – Used by Everyone
Cision is a very versatile PR tool and one that Team Brock could not live without. Cision allows us to connect with members of the media to distribute releases, and monitor opens thereafter.
7. Google Analytics – Used by Everyone
To see what is happening on our website and those of our clients, Google Analytics is our go-to resource. It allows us to see what specific locations and demographics our messages are reaching. Clients need to know that their PR team is succeeding in gaining audiences and Google Analytics is one of the best ways to represent this.
8. Word Press – Used by Everyone
I would not have been able to post this blog without the user-friendly website management that Word Press has. It allows us to monitor our website and it makes posting content easy. Word Press was something that I learned from the Brock team in a matter of hours.
Are there any other digital PR tools that you prefer?
